I’m sure you’ve read before, that starting your day with hot water and lemon is good for you. Studies have shown that lemon helps with weight loss and rids the body of toxins. I’ve tried to implement this in my morning routine, but I rarely have time in the morning to stop and drink a hot cup of water. By the time I get to the office, I prefer a cup of coffee. So I thought of an alternative, why not make my own lemon shots in the morning. This morphed into making lemon-ginger shots with cayenne pepper. All three of these ingredients have shown to be beneficial to one’s health. It’s best to prepare the shots at the beginning of the week, so in the morning you can just grab and go.
Ingredients:
- 1 Ginger root
- 1 Lemon
- 1/8 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
- A small bottle like this one from Amazon (Link)
Instructions
– Peel your ginger root to remove the brown outside.
– In a blender, add the ginger, lemon, and cayenne pepper.
– Mix until all the ingredients are well blended. If it’s too sour than pour in a bit of water in the blender.
– Using a strainer pour the blend into a cup or straight into a bottle. Since my bottle has a small opening it’s easier to pour into a cup first, than use a funnel to pour into a bottle.
These shots are extremely acidic, but I love the taste of lemon and ginger.
