This past weekend I took a trip to Las Vegas. I’ve mentioned in a previous post (link) that I have been to Vegas several times during my twenties. As many times as I’ve been, I had never been outside the strip. Vegas as we know from movies, only consist of one major street, called the Vegas strip. This is where you can see all the grand hotels and the nightlife this city is known for. But there is so much more to see outside of this street. There are State Parks, museums, and even a glimpse of the old wild west. Here is a travel guide of place to visit outside the Las Vegas Strip.
Only a short drive to see the beautiful conservation park of the Red Rocks (16.5 miles from the strip).
This beautiful park has bright red Aztec sandstone as far as the eye can see (49.3 miles from the strip).
To explore the old Las Vegas neon signs graveyard (only .6 miles from the strip)
Large-scale art installation in the middle of the desert (only 27.5 miles from the strip).
To get a feel of the old wild west, this saloon has been here since 1913 (38.1 miles from the strip).
