I’m sure I’m not the only one who gets bummed out when you live in a warm weather climate city and never get to experience the autumn foliage. The idea of cozy sweater and color leaves all around you seems so ideal. There are a few ways I can trick myself to pretend it is fall even though it is 80 degrees outside. Here are 3 ways I make it feel like autumn season.
Make Your Home Festive
I have never been a big fan of Halloween, so decorating my home with spooky items doesn’t get me in the fall season. Instead I like to add a fall candle, plaid blankets, and get store bought pumpkins to give my home the autumn feel. Also getting sunflowers to decorate your home is another special touch.
Get Out Of Town
In LA it is hard to feel that crisp fall breeze. My favorite thing to do this time of year is get out of town to go visit a farm for apple picking or to a pumpkin patch. Also drive a few hours and visit a small town where you can really feel the change of season. Personally I love visiting places like like Julian or Santa Cruz. Both give me the autumn feeling I crave.
Autumn Treats
During this time I can never get enough of anything pumpkin, apples and cinnamon. This includes getting pumpkin spice lattes and pumpkin or apple pies. Although I don’t mind buying fall treats, making them at home gets me into the season.
