Inspirational Women: Why Bella Twins are Amazing

Being a twin, it’s hard not to notice and admire twins who have made a name for themselves, such as the Bella Twin. I admire them not just for being twins, but they have worked their asses off and have push boundaries. So much they have mastered and popularized women division in wrestling, a sport geared to men. Because I have made a series on women, particularly minority women, who are pioneers in their field, it would be remiss of me not to include them. So I wanted to share a few reasons why these Bella Twins are amazing. And even though I am not into wrestling, I will say I am a proud Bella army member.

1. Hard work. They worked hard to get where they are at and have done it their own style. After college both of them started modeling, acting and doing promotional work. And after not getting selected in the 2006 WWE Diva search, they signed to developmental contracts and since plummeted to the top of the female division.
2. Heritage. They are proud of their heritage and often speak of their Italian and Mexican heritage. They have embraced their Italian side by starting their own wine company, Belle Radici. And are proud Latina women, as Nikki quoted after her folklórico dance on Dancing with the Stars, “we truly celebrate life and family and colors and music and I just love that. It makes me appreciate so much from my Mexican roots. It’s just something so unique.”
3. Speak Up. What I love of these two women they aren’t afraid to speak up for what they care about. From Brie love of the environment and Nikki calling off her wedding, both aren’t afraid of saying what’s right. They even started a clothing line, called Birdie Bee, that “supports and joins forces with those organizations that foster strength and empowerment of women”
4. Feminist. Both were part of WWE women evolution from being called Divas to now being called as their male counterparts Superstars. Their wrestling image has portrayed women as strong fierce females, hence their followers calling themselves Bella Army. And their strong image and relatability have led them to have also their own reality show on E network. Where they show how to balance motherhood, pro-wrestling career, and be business owners.
5. Athletes.  These girls aren’t just pretty faces with good bodies. They have been elite athletes all their lives. Both played competitive soccer, Nikki playing college soccer, and both have diva champions. Nikki is the longest reigning champion in the female division.
