Lately, I have been listening to podcast when I’m getting ready or while cooking. I typically watch Youtube videos, but I take twice as long to do anything because I’m constantly getting stuck watching the screen. So my new solution is to listen to podcast. There a few that I listen to daily. Here are my favorite podcasts.
When I need some guidance – Super Soul Sunday Oprah
I still mourn the fact Oprah is no longer on TV, I mean who doesn’t! She has an ability to inspire others through her interviews. This is exactly why I love her Super Soul podcast sessions. She interviews an array of people that share their stores or provide new ways of thinking. For example, she had Shonda Rhimes on talking about her year of yes. These interviews really do spark something in me.
The Daily – Get a better understand on current events
I am a big fan of Skim daily, daily news email that provides a snippet on what’s going on in the world. There are times I wish to have a deeper understanding on popular news stories. The Daily by the New York Times is an excellent source for a rooted understanding of trending topics. They have interviews with people who have in-depth information about a particular topic. For example, our current relationship with North Korea, included an interview with someone in the early 2000’s who had a hand in negotiating with the country and how the outcome still impacts us today.
Need to be Entertained – Lore
The Lore podcast is one of my favorites. As a fan of legends and myths, the speaker shares creepy stories from all over the world. Stories can also be from different time periods like the Victorian era, which I personally find fascinating. If I need a break and want something interesting to listen to this is my go to.
Garance Dore Pardon My French – Need to get the creative juice flowing
I am a big fan of Garance Dore blog for many years. I love the way she is honest and relateable in her writing. This also comes through in her podcast. Her podcast includes interviewers from people she admires or even conversations with her team. I love to listen to interior designers, fashion experts, cooks, etc. talk about their passion and what motivates them.
Also if you have any recommendation, I would love to know about them.
