With the wedding planning well along the way, it was time to try on dresses. I have to say wedding dress shopping is fun and loved how wedding dresses automatically make you feel special. Not that being the sole attention of everyone during the appointment already does that.
Also, it was a great reminder that I want to look my best for the big day. I will slowly refocus my attention soon, on losing some fat and toning up. I am not going to lie, I haven’t been watching what I eat as much. Therefore I need to refocus my goals to look my absolute best for that day.
So here is a quick guide to learn which body type are you and how to workout and eat to best assist your goal.
Ectomorph
Body Composition:
– Narrow hips and clavicles
– Women will have a smaller chest
– Longer limbs and thin bone structure
– Gain weight and muscles
– Can lose weight easy
– Stringy muscle bellies
Tips to Thicken the Body and Tone Muscles:
– Reduce cardio if wanting to build muscle
– training should be 90% lifting weights, 10% cardio (for heart health)
– When lifting focus on larger muscles groups (back, chest, legs, and shoulders)
– Lift heavy at a slower pace with longer rest periods
– Keep work on short 45-60 mins max to avoid burning too many calorie
– Increase calories intake
– Keep Carbs high, protein moderate and fat low
Mesomorph
Body Composition:
– Wide clavicles and narrow waist; ie athletic build
– Medium size bone structure
– Maintains an average body weight
– Will lose or gain weight easy
– Create muscles easier
– Long and round muscle bellies
Tips to Tighten up the Body and Tone Muscles:
– Workouts should be a combination of weights and cardio
– Training should be 75% lifting weights, 25% cardio
– Train with moderate to heavy weight at a moderate pace
– HITT cardio is ideal to maintain a nice amount of muscle and keep fat low
– Maintain a normal, healthy diet
– Eat moderate carbs and protein, and fat low
Endomorph
Body Composition:
– Larger bone structure
– Thicker joints and rib cage
– A curvy or round build
– Hard to lose fat
– Shorter limbs
Tips to Slim the Body and Tone Muscles:
– Important to equally do both cardio and strength training
– Training should be 50% lifting weights, 50% cardio
– Use moderate weights at a faster pace with little rest
– Circuit training is ideal to lose fat while building lean muscles
– Lower calorie intake and focus on smaller and more frequent meals
– Keep carbs low, high protein and moderate fat
Remember you may not fall into just one category, maybe a combination of two or three of these. This link is a test to find out what you are. I will stress that all body types are fantastic and none are superior than others. I am writing this in order to improve what we all naturally been blessed with.
