When my sister and I first started living healthier, there was a fear of going back to our old routine. If we missed a day at the gym or ate a fatty meal, we would get down on ourselves. We felt like we were living to exercise rather than exercising to live.
Now if we have an off day or even two, we just let it go. We know that we can’t stop living just because we ate pizza or skip the gym. It just means we offset a bad day with a good day. Here’s how:
- We ate a heavy meal: next meal we’ll eat a lower calorie meal.
- Bad day of eating: the next day we will have a lower carb day.
- We missed a few days at the gym: we’ll do a full body circuit.
- Overall bad day: next day fasted cardio or HITT workout.
Not only does off setting a bad day with a good day, but it gives us balance. Also gets us right back on track to reach our goals.
