With a mid-day slump, its great to have a protein smoothie with a boost of energy. Cherries are great way to help curve the sweet tooth, while providing you with that extra push. Also, cherries make for a great post workout treat because of their anti-inflammatory properties reduces any aches after a workout.
Try making this protein chocolate cherry smoothie this summer, if you need a “pick me up” or before/after an intense workouts.
In blender, place the following ingredients:
1 cup of pitted cherries (frozen works best)
1/2 cup of yogurt
1 scoop (30g) of chocolate protein powder
1 cup of almond milk1/2 tbsp agave
1 tbsp of flax seed
1 tbsp of unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 tbsp agave
Best way to remove the pit of a cherry is use a wine bottle. Place the cheery on the opening of the bottle, then with a straw push down in the center. The seeds will fall into the bottle and you have yourself a pit-less cherry.
